Patchouli leaf oil is produced through steam distillation. This involves harvesting the patchouli leaves, drying them, and then subjecting them to high-pressure steam. The steam carries the volatile oil components of the patchouli leaves, separating them from the plant matter. This aromatic steam is then cooled, causing the oil to condense and separate from the water. Its anti-inflammatory properties can help soothe irritated skin conditions like eczema and acne. Known for its regenerative qualities, it can help promote skin cell turnover and reduce the appearance of scars. Patchouli leaf oil also possesses antimicrobial and antifungal properties, making it beneficial for combating acne-causing bacteria and yeast infections. Additionally, it can help balance sebum production, addressing both oily and dry skin concerns.
