NAMES:

Botanical: Citrus paradis | INCI: Citrus Paradisi Peel Oil

SOURCE:

Italy

CHEMICAL COMPOSITION:

Limonene, beta-myrcene, alpha-pinene, octanal, sabinene.

Grapefruit peel oil is produced through cold pressing. Unlike many other oils that are extracted using steam distillation, the delicate nature of citrus oils requires a gentler method. Cold pressing involves exerting pressure on the grapefruit peel to extract the oil. This process helps preserve the oil's fresh, uplifting aroma and therapeutic properties. Its high limonene content lends it refreshing and invigorating properties, helping to awaken dull skin. The oil's astringent qualities can help tighten pores and reduce excess sebum, making it suitable for oily or acne-prone skin. Additionally, grapefruit peel oil possesses antioxidant properties, which can help protect the skin from environmental damage and premature aging. However, it's important to note that citrus oils, including grapefruit, can cause photosensitivity.
